Beautiful Bubble Butterflies.

 How did we make these wonderful butterflies?

First we folded white paper in half.  We pressed bubble wrap into the paint and onto the paper. We started with the primary colours, red, yellow and blue. Then we mixed some paint together to make secondary colours. It was like MAGIC!! 
Red and yellow made orange. 

                          Blue and yellow made green. 

                                                    Red and blue made purple. 

We used what we learned about symmetry to make sure both sides of the paper looked THE EXACT SAME.

Then we folded the black paper in half and drew a butterfly outline with chalk. We cut and glued the outline onto the bubble wrap designs. We cut around the black paper to make our beautiful bubble butterflies.

It was tricky to push the bubble wrap into the paint because it felt cold and slimy. We got paint ALL OVER OUR HANDS. Then we washed them with soap and water and that made them clean.

It was also tricky to draw a ginormous butterfly but luckily we could rub out the chalk and keep on trying!!

We think our butterflies look fantastic and beautiful. We feel very excited that we made them. They are on our tree now, but we can bring them home later in the year.

Valentines Day.

Yesterday was Valentines Day. We made Valentines cards for our families. This is what we did:
1. We folded the paper.
2. We put our hands into PVA glue. It felt cold, funny, fresh and  sticky!!
3. We put our gluey hand on the paper.
4. We washed our hands with soap.
5. We sprinkled the red glitter onto the glue print. It looked shiny, and super amazing.
6. We have gave our cards to our Mums and Dads. 

They said - FANTASTIC and THANK YOU! 

A Stormy Weekend!

 When we came to school this morning we saw a bunch of leaves and sticks and even some branches. They were everywhere on the ground. We put on our hats and we went to pick them all up.

Look how many we picked up!! We made a HUGE pile!

Swimming Fun.

Room 1 went swimming today. First we put our feet in the water. It felt nice and cold. We splashed a little bit and then a little bit more! It felt fun and  everyone got wet. When we got into the water we were hopping and jumping and playing. Then we got the noodles out. We lay on our stomachs and we laid on our backs. Our swimming time was really FANTASTIC!!

Welcome back to school in 2022!

 Room 1 was so excited to be back together again and to 
start learning in Room 1 today!!
We remembered how to change our calendar :)

We even popped outside to do some learning in the sandpit. 

It was an AWESOME first day back at school!!
